Re: Whats in your bowl?
Had the Tashkent last night in a big Dunhill bent billiard. It is honestly a very good tobacco. So much so I have ordered 8oz of the stuff to put away. Fantastic Baltic flavours. It is not murdered by Latakia. I get a litttle Virginia "old hay" in the background.
I really like it - it's up there with Penzance and Sobranie for intrigue. It's contemplative stuff for sure. I am uncertain is whether or not it is better than the Royal. The price is good too, and you can order wee 1oz sample baggies of his stuff. I'll fire you a sample It's not like I don't have your address or anything.........

Re: Whats in your bowl?
Some Thanksgiving Day in my Peterson Strand:
The pipe is of high quality and tends to smoke cool, but the blend is just right for moisture. Not cased in anything I could detect. Nice creaminess on the retrohale- almost custard finish. General nuttiness - a decent smoke.....

This morning's smoke was Comoy's Cask #4 in a no name warden. I like the flake and the price is right but I need to stop doing VA's early in the morning. I need something sturdier to get myself moving. |

I love seeing others enjoying Samovar, one of my favorites.
I've been breaking with the norm and smoking GLP's Va Cream more and more lately. I'm not much of an aromatic fan but this stuff is good. There's plenty of good burley flavor to let you know you're not just steaming sugar. |

Bald Headed Teacher in an Invictus bulldog. Not bad. Like the room note.
Last night some Stockebeye luxury bullseye in a Comoy apple. Heady stuff - too many relights (I packed it too tight) - led a bit of tongue bite. Amateur!

Re: Whats in your bowl?
So I recently acquired some Ebony from Peretti. Thinking "ebony and ivory" I popped it in my ancient meer I was sent by Bam-Bam some years ago. The pipe is old, delicate and well loved. It is perfect for gentler aros and Ebony is no exception.....
The smoke was cool, no bite evident at all. The aroma is confection like (brioche?) but the flavour a somewhat muted nut like burley. It burned to a small amount of sticky dottle- although not excessive. Decent stuff......

Re: Whats in your bowl?
It was pretty good, a bit lighter than I've been going for lately, with that said it would've made a good morning/coffee smoke as opposed to a post RA smoke like I did.
Never got even remotely hot, burned beautifully, and was just a all around nice mellow smoke. Thanks again Nutcracker! |

Peretti Royal Blend in a GBD pot for the morning ride. Excellent medium English with plenty of smokiness. Charring light was very smooth for being fresh. Thanks Neil!

McClellands 2014 Holiday Spirit in the CAO Meerschaum, thanks to a sample received by Neil (nutcracker) some time back. A very nice tasting aromatic. Thanks Neil!
