Re: Tattoos?
That is an awesome tattoo!!
I've been talking to a few artists about doing my half sleeve I'm wanting to get in June. Some are saying 4 hours, some are saying 5+... Im not sure who to go with yet, but probably will go back to the guy who did my first one. The thing is, its about a 2hour trip to his shop. The good thing, there is an old B&M near by I haven't been to yet. So, we'll just see how things go.

Re: Tattoos?
I saw a really awful tattoo last night at the Y. A gal was working out in front of me with a tank top on, less than 10 feet away, and has a tattoo about 3 inches across on her right shoulder. I was on a recumbent cycle behind her and took almost 10 minutes trying to discern what it was. Bluish/angled/splotch/not quite parallelogram/branches/flag/birthmark??????
Nope, it turned out when she walked in front of me that it was just a horribly done, bled out, poorly colored, structured, and designed, conceptualized and completed butterfly. I was disappointed and expected so very much more. To put a tatt where you cannot see it shows that it is not for your pleasure or view, right? For those looking upon it as a "facet of your personality" or some such? Beautiful, fit, happy gal. Ugly as fnck crappy tatt. Quite a shame, since perhaps she was expecting the performance of the artist to accentuate her beauty or have a work of art on her shoulder instead of denigrating it. |

Re: Tattoos?
Thanks guys. We started it last September. Then had to take a break from December to March because I wasn't employed. It was originally going to be black and white with heavy shading. We were almost done with that, and then I decided that it had to be color after seeing his work on my Wife's half sleeve. That added a lot of time, but I'm so happy I went with color. This guy is the best in Boston.
I love the Ocean, and it's traditions. My Dad was a GM1 in the Coast Guard, and I was born at Coast Guard boot camp when our family was stationed there. The CG is in my blood. I'm terrified of Sharks, so I wanted the Kraken to be winning the fight. The Lighthouse and Storms are about not losing your bearing when **** hits the fan, which applies to life right now ironically. I just showed him pictures of what I wanted, and he drew the design up. The Artist is moving to Hawaii, and he said if I ever want work done that I can stay at his house with him and his Wife for a visit. His work is top notch. |

Re: Tattoos?
Wife got some new ink today. This piece took about 3.5hrs to get to this point, and it took the tattoo artist about 2hrs to draw it up from scratch. Once it heals, it's getting color.
