Yes, it's one of the two 221b series (the other being Arcadia based off the old Craven's mixture which happens to be the tobacco they speak of in JM Barrie's Lady Nicotine).

For a straight VA, it has little bite to it and with the right pace you can get a good amount of body to the smoke.

Today, in my Irish Grandfather's memory, I puffed a bowl of his favorite...Blenders Gold Peach Melba in a cob mini-warden. When he found out I smoked a pipe in 2003 he tossed me a bag of it. I still have some of it jarred and load a bowl full on certain occasions. Out of his 8 kids on forget how many grandchildren, I am the only one who smokes a pipe.

Home blend this evening called "Mitchells Blend" named after a piper on another forum (since it is his creation). Basically, 1/3 ea of Old Joe Krantz, Golden Extra, and Anniversary Kake. I blended 1 oz each of these fine blends back on 03/15/2015. This is my second bowl since and its smoking pretty darn good at this time

Lovely bowl of Escudo tonight. Two slices folded & stuffed are just about a perfect fit for my diplomat cob.

Morning commute: Blackhouse in my most beat up cob.

Last night: I took a single flake of Old Ironsides and left it in a baggie with the tips of a vanilla bean for a few weeks to see how much, if any flavor would transfer. OI was it's usual robust self with a softness of vanilla more than an outright taste. Makes me wonder what SG's Perfection tastes like.

AH-HA!

Thanks Neil! I was eager and loaded a bowl with no dry time in a small cob. Wonderful smoke. Extremely smooth, not sure I could get this to bite if I tried. I pre-loaded a bowl for later in a 1940's Comoy's Poker and can't wait to dive in. The Spring Flake looks very good too, I'm looking forward to what the sherry barrels add to the flavor.

Sleep with one eye open friend

Seth, Seth, Seth, dear boy, you know that Rich at 4 Noggins expects a monthly mail-out to Baltimore. It's just how it is brother! You have to not win the lotto for a few months to break the habit......

Was decent...very sweet. I was surprised that the 'baccy smokable right out of the tin. Usually, Peterson aro's are very wet when opened . I get orange, irish cream, and coconut. I did notice a weird aftertaste though that I've never experienced before with other aromatics though.
