Check out the Taurus 605 had one for a few years, had to sell it, I'd buy another if I find a deal.

Not my first gun, but my first 1911. My first was a Daisy BB gun when I was 5 or so.

I really liked it a lot.
I haven't shot the 9 compact, but I shot the M&P Standard and Pro. I love the size and weight of the shield.
