Christmas Cheer here this morning after cleaning out a drain tile. In short sleeves, sweating. Nothing says typical N.C. Christmas like 70 degrees and rain.

Merry Christmas Rev!

McC Holiday Spirit 2014 in my Peterson rusticated 309 (kindly given to me by Badbriar).
The pipe smokes soooo nicely - it is brilliant - nice big bowl full of egg nogg-vanilla holiday goodness.

I'll have to smoke a second bowl.

I'm not really an aromatics fan, but this just feels right, and it's great in this pipe!

Thanks Rob!

I meant to ask? Can you have a pipe on a sub? Probably not! They didnt allow it on military aircraft either but you could always detect a faint cigar cloud anyway. It was wartime and the rules are always ignored!

Here's the lowdown as of 04/2010 from COMSUBFOR:

Whether this is still current, I do not know...

Samuel Gawith Golden Glow in a Peterson Meer.
Bit one dimensional - straight up Virginian. Pleasant nuttiness.

When I was in during the early 80's, you could. My Capt. smoked that apple tobacco from the drug store. A few others, like my LPO smoked a pipe, too. We could remove smoke from atmosphere with electro-static precipitators. They are like those ones you see on TV, but bigger and incorporated into the ventilation system.

BTW, I do not like what has happened to the Navy. Many, many, bad, terrible things. Apparently, Liberty isn't for the ones doing the fighting for it.

They're gonna lock people up in a steel pipe, underwater for weeks at a time and expect them to quit? Insane!

Pieces parts of Lane 1Q, Lane BCA, and C&D Autumn Evening mixed together. (have shipment of tobacco due tomorrow. I guess I could do the Borkum Riff thing but...)

It is actually pretty good! Packed it in the Dr Grabow as I just like this pipe for big pipe fulls!

Yesterday at Tim's place:

A restored Savinelli Punto oro filled with Haddos Delight. The tobacco was from Bad Briar and is a superb Virginnia-Perique mix with some Cavendish. I shared a bowl or two around our cigar herf and everyone enjoyed immensely. Even sparked the interest of the aro fans.

Today is magnificent outside - a fresh dusting of snow, bright blue sky and only ten below. My Peterson Dublin Castle filled with some Danske Light Perfect Black.

I love the blast on this pipe - especially in the bright sunlight!

The Perfect Black is a lovely tobacco. I haven't researched it yet (was a gift) - but I suspect a Cavendish variant - deep, mellow, roasted nuts and barley. I like it!

Peterson's Luxury Bulls Eye Flake. In the new Comoys Pebble 80 pipe. I immediately liked this blend. it came in pepperoni slices looking discs and not know how to use it I just tore one slice up and stuffed it in the bowl. It lit easily and stayed lit. Its new for me but I think I picked up a bit of honey or vanilla. I couldnt find the blend in the tobacco reviews page so not sure. It smells great to me but is not as mild to me as anniversary or Tobac noir. Must be big boy tobacco!
