Time for the Pats to bite the bullet and eat the big money and dump Ochostinko.

He had one ball thrown to him once and ran the wrong route, that was the last we seen of him yesterday.

I say make a move for Brandon Lloyd with the bye week you would get him up to speed on a few plays,we need a receiver that can take the top off the defense.

He is kind of sad,you would think he was a smart guy?

Brady called his number he broke right ,Brady threw left, you could see Tom chewing him out on the bench that was his last play in the game.
One way or the other he is gone?

Whew, pulled out a close one against the Cowboys. Game was pretty much what I expected as Ryan's defense really made Brady work for this game. Nice to see the Pats win one of these close ones.
Some thoughts:

Ochostinko ... I agree he's gotta go. Nice try Bill, but cut your losses and let's see if Taylor Price can play or not.
D-Line -- getting better, still not there, but getting better. I keep wondering just how much of the ineffectiveness of this unit is tied to changing over to a new scheme with virtually no training camp and a bunch of new guys.
D-Backs - this unit needs serious work. A good QB is gonna kill us. Mcourty needs to see a shrink to be convinced he actually has the talent to succeed in this league. He plays way to conservatively.
O-Line ... They did pretty well overall, good run blocking (against a theoretically good run defense), and not bad pass blocking - I know Brady got hit a lot - but...
QB ... Tom is an unbelievable talent but sometimes he thinks he can do more than he can do. Even Aikman commented on what little windows he was trying to squeeze passes into. He was mostly successful and doing so was absolutely needed on the last drive, but one of the interceptions was because of his slight misfire. The other thing is -he is holding the ball too long waiting for receivers to get open. This is probably more of a scheme thing as they were trying to go downfield on a lot of plays instead of the quick passes that they felt Dallas had prepared for, but some of the sacks can be squarely laid on Tom's shoulders.
Receivers ... Both tight ends get an A, Branch did well, Welker did OK for being double teamed all day and Ochostinko didn't show up.
Running Backs ... Gotta love Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis. Just gotta. Ridley and Woodhead looked OK when in there but Benny is the man. It will be interesting to see what happens after the bye week when Kevin Faulk can come back.
Special Teams ... These units need some work. The kicker & punter both are doing very well but our coverage on punts is inadequate, (Welker's gonna get killed) and it gauls me to see so many teams run kickoffs out of the end zone to the 30-35 yard line, especially when we only seem to be able to get out to the 20 at best.

Overall, nice way to finish before the bye week. On top of the AFC East and in control of their own destiny. Next up - The Steelers in two weeks.

Ocho could come into play later in the season. Teams won't cover him as they expect him to drop the ball or screw up... Then all of a sudden he catches the ball.

I hear you, I would trade him if they can, but who wants him at this point? Can he play Special Teams?

Offense for the Pats did not show up at all. Pats defense just stayed above water, but wasn't enough. Steelers beat the Pats fair and square...

Steelers or Pats will go to Superbowl.

Suffice to say the offense stunk in the first half and the defense stunk on the final Giant's drive. We did not deserve to win and we did not. Best get our act together this week or it will be a long day vs the Jets.
Good news along those lines...Haynesworth was just released! Now if OchoStinko was just right behind him it would be a step in the right direction.

I'm going to have to agree with you, that Playoffs are going to be tough.

It was a great game, with a lot of action. EVERY time the 'skins got a good pass through, it was because their guy was WIDE open.
It didn't seem like we were firing on all cylinders throughout the game, but just in sections.

They'll have to be doing a lot better this next game, or we're going to feel the hurt...

Also, I'm glad to se that Occho has come around. The first half of the season was scary...
And Gronk... He reached up and plucked that throw out of the air, I swear!

I see a blowout in the making this week Denver should kill the Pats?
Tebow running the option, and passing in the zone behind the backers the safety's are so bad there is wide open space in front of them

Not only the D can't stop the pass it has gotten so bad they can't stop the run.

Ocho coming around your kidding,15 catches and he dropped to the ground when he caught a pass last week.

I was watching film of him and he is a freakin dog pulling a Moss can't get off the line and starts jogging when the play is still going on,that's why he is not playing?

BB would cut him in a heartbeat, but it would make him look so bad for signing him to big money.

Playoffs...this team will be one and done.

Denver can't blowout anyone. Take it from a Broncos fan; they just don't play games that way. The day they can actually take a double-digit lead (even if it's 10 points) at the beginning of a game will be a very pleasant surprise.

The way they are winning, I'm either going to lose my voice or have a stroke (or both). Not that I'm complaining...

Whew, what a game. Pats offense was as expected ... 41 points! Defense was another story. I could not believe how bad they were in the first quarter...and I thought we had already seen the worst they could be. BUT they made some adjustments, changed from 4-3 to 3-4, altered some blocking schemes and suddenly got more agressive (it helped that the offense continued to score). Bottom line, a win and we're the AFC East Champs.
During a week in which Green Bay lost, Indy won and the Jets looked just awful, for the Patriots to make the necessary adjustments during the game and come back from a miserable first quarter to beat the mile high messiah was a very positive development indeed. Just goes to show that they're still one of the very elite teams in league- even with the awful defense. BTW, Andre Carter will be missed - big time.
Special kudos this week to Aaron Hernandez and Mark Anderson, both really stepped it up. Let's not forget Gisele's husband either - he's so good that we've come to expect this type of game from him. No doubt- we New England fans are spoiled.
Next up is Miami on Christmas Eve. I hope the Pats don't overlook the reinvigorated Dolphins. That whole team is playing for their jobs now and could be very dangerous.
In the meantime ... NE Fans - bask in the sunshine of another AFC East Championship.

I wouldn't say one and done, but I don't see them getting past two games sadly.

I work at Sports Authority and this 19 year old came in and bought a Ochocinco Jersey ($120!) and we talked about 'em a bit. He's completely positive that BB is "Saving him for the Playoffs. That he's purposely playing like **** so teams that are double teaming Welker or Gronk 'forget' about him." I'm not kidding lol.

Pretty late commenting on the Miami game, it's been busy. Let's just say I'm glad the offense changed over to a no-huddle for the second half and got on track. I did not recognize that team out there in the first half.
The good thing - We won and have a first round bye.
The bad - yikes - the first half!

I do not think there will be a lack of motivation for Buffalo this week after that early season loss, so... Pats should end up as #1 seed in AFC with home field until the Super Bowl. Just imagine, talking super bowl with the worst defense in the league . Maybe I'm delerious but ....

AFC East Champs - check
First Round Bye - check
Home Field throughout playoffs - check

and along the way - the best record in the AFC. All with no defense!

Congrats Pats on a great season. Ask yourself, why do you watch football? If it is to see great offensive play, watch a future hall of fame QB in his prime, cheer for a never say die team, and cheer for a team good enough to have the best record in football in that past decade then you should be a Patriots fan, like me.

Now still on the checklist:
win AFC championship _____
win Super Bowl ____

It should be fun to watch.

I'm a Pats fan, but you know what the Pats have not beaten a team with a winning record
The playoffs are a whole different animal they will be one and done unless they get the Bangles first game?
The Pats get behind early like the last few weeks they will get blown out?
I hope not just being realistic.

Didn't play this week and still lots of news. In the "who woulda thunk it" catagory...we are going to play Tim Tebow and the Broncos AGAIN. Oh, and to make it more interesting we'll have Josh McDaniels on the sideline. You know, Hollywood writers wouldn't dare write this stuff - too implausible.
Here are my concerns:
* We won the first game primarily because of turnovers, I'm not so sure we can depend on them for this next one.
* Tebow listened to Elway and actually pulled the trigger a number of times vs. the Steelers - I know only 50% or so completions... but -well you know- Wow! If he throws deep like that against our secondary - bad news.
* Then there is this whole what I call "player perception" thing. Let me explain. I really believe that once a team has decisively beaten someone during a season that they come out flat for their second meeting. Witness the Patriots against the Jets last year. No matter how much the coaches drill them or the players themselves say what a great team the opponent is, deep down in their subconscious they feel that they are better and just don't play as hard. This also happens with teams that they ave not yet played, but just feel they are better than - witness the first Buffalo game this year or the deficits they have allowed themselves to get into the last three games. Short version: I'm real concerned about the Patriots coming out flat.
At any rate, we are about to be sujected to another week of Tebow hype. Bottom line is that we should beat these guys easily, but then again Pittsburgh should have too.

No more Brady-Moss; on the scoreboard in 2 minutes. I agree, we need points early. 1st half has to be a success for both offense and defense.
