Re: MLB 2012 Thread
LaRussa opts for Matt Cain as opposed to RA Dickey to start for the NL All Stars tomorrow. This is another complete slap in the face to the Mets. First Pablo Sandoval wins the fans vote over David Wright with numbers not even close and now this?? WTF?? This is total BS!!!

But we all know part of that package was that you wouldn't be smoking your sticks...just what Vin pulled out of his collection.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
I did not smoke a single one of my own sticks, Mac, though I managed to give lots away. The boys in MA. took good care of me.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Damn fine All Star game...those Giant earned their money. Really glad to see Melk Man get the MVP. Still wanted to see Dickey start...but I'll get over it.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Don't worry Tom, I'm not counting any eggs right now.. I didn't think we were gonna win back in 2005 until we actually did.. even though we dominated every team we faced in the end. I'm a little pessimistic with the Sox. I'm just happy we have done as well as we have... We were picked by many to be the worst in the Central. I think if the Sox can snag a starter, they we at least put themselves in the running.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Word is the Tigers are trying to get either Dempster or Garza from the Cubs for prospects.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
I know a bunch of teams are in the hunt for either guy, including the Sox.. My brother in law is a cubbie fan and seems to think they are looking to trade away either starter as a package though.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Fielder was standing at 1st base tonight (during the Tigers-Angels game) next to Albert Pujols. The ESPN guy pointed out that the contracts the two of them signed this off-season were collectively worth over HALF A BILLION DOLLARS!
I remember my jaw dropping when Pete Rose signed for a million a year. Holy shikey.
