I recently picked up a tin of Dunhill Nightcap and just now got around to trying it. I gotta say that it was delightful! If it weren't for my increasingly disappointing Kaywoodie, I would have enjoyed it better. I like the shape of the Kaywoodie, but it burns way too hot and the draw is tighter than I like. This baccy may just inspire me to smoke a pipe more often and find a replacement for the Kaywoodie.

Last night, smoked some Squadron Leader, which probably needed to be dried out just a little. Then, some Butternut Burley.

Carter Hall in a cob past few days. Very good at what it does (which isn't much).

I've read complaints that most SG blends are very wet. I've had very little trouble with my tin though. Dry some and try it both ways. I've seen the same tobacco exhibit different flavors when dried vs. out of the tin.

Cheers

I have a kaywoodie also. My main complaint of that pipe is the gurgle and slop around the stinger. Occasionally I get a taste of nicotine water. Nasty! It's to the point that I disassemble it and blow it out and run a cleaner while smoking a bowl. If I could only find a nice little apple like this that didn't gurgle....

You may want to look into a corncob Darren. Lots of folks smoke them and state they get a more true idea of the tobacco flavors.

This site will give you an idea:

Yesterday was a bowl of old gowrie for the next installment of RevViews. Today seemed like a good day for Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture. Yum!
