Re: I had a great cigar today thanks to......
Had another great cigar from Ismith75. This time it was a Repasado 96 Connecticut, his golfing cigar. I had a couple friends back for in town for the holidays, so we sat outside a local coffee get together spot and shared it, they're more cigarette people, but I shared what little knowledge I have, and i think they enjoyed the experience and were interested in smoking some more cigars in the future. We're all a little sick out here, first big snow and we all have stuffy noses and coughs so my olfactory senses weren't up to par, but I really enjoyed this smoke. It started out quite smooth with no particularly distinguishable taste and a nice warm feeling on the tongue. Later down the cigar started to have a real nice oak taste especially right after blowing the smoke out, and after that an almost rose or cherry wood / branch taste. We smoked it almost to the end, where it heated up a bit, this one packed a big nicotine hit and I don't drink as much coffee as used to so after our get together I was a little light footed, but an altogether memorable smoke and time. Would definitely suggest this cigar and wouldn't mind keeping a couple in my coolidor, it's a nice one to share if you aren't a heavy cigar smoker because it's quite big and smokes for a while. All in all many thanks to Ismith75 and I look forward to smoking another from the great selection he sent me.

Re: I had a great cigar today thanks to......
For my first post-flu cigar, I wanted something that was going to have some pretty pronounced flavors. I chose an 02 Party Lons that VicVitola sent me a month or so ago, and it hit the spot! Thanks, Rob -- it felt sooooooooooooooo good to have a nice cigar agian after a couple weeks of feeling like ass.

A rich full-bodied cigar that was a rare treat. Thanks, Adam.

Re: I had a great cigar today thanks to......
I had my first cigar from Kelmac07 last night. It was a Reserva Miraflor. Me and my brother shared this one after a nice soak at a fairly near by hot springs, and some not "too" shabby Mexican food. We sat outside by a fire pit and had some real nice conversation. This cigar maintained a very very consistent pepper taste, but the intensity and variety of the pepper changed throughout the smoke. This one started out as whole black pepper corns and very thin sheets of wood maybe ceder or pine. A little later down the tastes changed places the pepper took a little bit of a back seat and the wood grew into a (don't laugh) burning forest note. After the second half the pepper came back with a vengeance as crushed red and black pepper corns shortly after this I started to get a sleight chocolate note, but was unable to really name it properly I was thinking something like a very very peppery hot chocolate with a little chili, but my brother pinned it down perfectly with Molé. all in all a very nice smoke, I don't know about an every dayer, but after a Steak au poivre one of these would be amazing!
Many Thanks Kelmac07! |
