Watched most of Inglorious Basterds last night. Gonna finish it tonight. Hasn't lived up to the hype at all so far.

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
I gave Inglorious Basterds a real chance, a typical Tarantino suspension of disbelief.
What I saw was more of a fun movie with a ton of tension, for instance, anyone who feels like the German kat didn't EARN his Best supporting actor Oscar needs to watch the movie again. While I am watching it I am thinking, this is the best actor I have seen this year. A movie that I thought was destined for greatness was the worst I have seenin many many years....Couples Retreat. Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau in my eyes, can do no wrong (Made-Swingers). Throw in Jason Bateman who is the ultimate child star comeback kid, and I thought this thing was aces going away. Instead it should just go away. Seriously, can Jason Bateman be any better than he is right now? He is the man. He can play comedy so well and you never see the work, it looks effortless and completely plausible. I saw glimmers of it in Dodge Ball. Bear in mind that I am too cheap to have cable, so I never saw that series he was in with Jeffery Tambor et al. |

Finished Inglorious Basterds last night. What a letdown. I am with Brad in saying that the German guy did a great job in this film, but the rest was not to my liking (except Brad Pitt and his Aldo GW Bush impersonation).

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
I WILL say to clarify that i was letdown as well. I thought this movie could potentially be his best work ever,
but after seeing it, it was just entertaining, and a little strange. But in the end I am in favor of a director rising to glory or dying a slow embarassing death according to his will. Who am I to tell them what they want to do with their career. That's why i trust Spielberg to do "the pacific" really well, cause he has made excellent choices in his career and rarely done a half-ass job. But yeah, the Nazi Hunter makes the movie. |

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
I really enjoyed Inglorious Basterds. My favorite part of the movie was when Brad Pitt said "You know, fightin' in a basement offers a lot of difficulties. Number one being, you're fightin' in a basement!"

Re: What's the last movie you watched?
I went to see Alice in Wonderland last night. It was the first movie I have seen in a theatre in 2.5 almost 3 years. I now remember why I stopped going.
For half the cost I could get pizza at the house and buy the movie. |
