My personal favorite in that category would have to be the Bell's Java Stout. A bit pricey at 16 or 17 bucks a six-pack, but sometimes it is worth it to treat yourself.

the Stone/Firestone Walker/21st Amendment El Camino (un)Real Black Ale...

the anise comes out in this one, I like it. Has a very slick mouthfeel, almost oily on the lips.

Dogfish Head Aprihop here. I ususallydo not like american made beers with fruity flavors as they usually overwhelm but not hear. The apricot is subtle.

I had a bottle of this last night, surprisingly it wasn't bad.

I'm with you on fruity flavors.

Just poured a Hirschbrau Hefeweisse from a flip top bottle . Very light and a bit lemony . Nice and cloudy in the glass . I prefer my Hefeweisse un-filtered but this one is filtered .

This is an awesome porter. If Deschutes is available in your region, it is well worth seeking out. Two thumbs up.

Really enjoying some La Trappe that Simon (SmokeyNL) gave me at the Amsterdam herf. Great beer, may require a trip to Belgium just to get some more.

The Deschutes line was a staple for me when I was out west. Guess they are slowly making it east. The porter is one of their best for sure.

Made it home this weekend and picked up some Trout River Hoppin' Mad Trouts. Easy drinking beers, going to be out of my sixer before the sox even start tonight.

Opa Opa Vanilla Bean Porter.

I've enjoyed this. Not the best Porter I've ever had, but a very solid beer.

And at $6.00 per growler fill, how could I ask for anything more.

Who wants to share their local beer bars with the class? Here's mine:

http://www.itsonlybeer.com/

And yes, the bar is really like that. Maximum capacity of about 60-70 people, and they don't tolerate asshattery. Kind of like a beer nazi establishment, it is

I'm drinking a KBS too. I think this may be the best beer I've ever had. I've got 6 bottles left, going to have to dole them out carefully.
