Re: NHL '16 - '17 Season Thread
I'm just buying time, waiting to see if the Avs trade Duchene or Landeskog for blue line help by March 1st. But Hell, they can't score goals now and get rid of Duchy(their most marketable talented forward[MacKinnon is not going anywhere]), causes more issues on that end.
Avs are a mess. BRING ON PLAYOFF HOCKEY!!! |

Dumba, Spurgeon and Suter for Duchesne.
There, 2 problems solved. The Avs, and the Blackhawks.

Re: NHL '16 - '17 Season Thread
Not exactly who I was thinking.....more like Brodin or Christian Folin. Actually I'd be fine with Dumba going. He's either great or terrible. I'm actually somewhat worried they are going to try and bring in a scorer and screw up the chemistry and ruin the season. But I think that's just the MN sports fan in me......

Have liked coach J since he was coaching the oiler farm team ... Hamilton bulldogs .
I believe ... julienne is a ( way) better coach than the bruins are a hockey team . Hiring Julienne may move the habs into Stanley cup contender territory ... I hope . Derrek

I agree of Julien's talent as a coach. Derrek. But the only thing that's going to make Montreal a true Cup contender is Carey Price returning to his Vezina year form.

IF the oilers make the playoffs ... I feel sorry for whoever they play in the first round .
On last nights game ... it has been a long time since I thought the oilers could have been a little less intimidating bullying gratuitously violent ... not sure I fully support this . Derrek

Just had to "settle the score" with Manning in their eyes, Derrek. I think the only Oiler who might continue is Lucic, and only because he has played like sh!t all year.

Re: NHL '16 - '17 Season Thread
Welllllllll
I was hoping the oilers would be able to remain competitive ( after last weeks game against the Hawks ) into the third period . Instead ... talbot stood on his head and they managed 2 points from a game they didn't deserve to win . Dare I hope ... oilers make the playoffs . Toews is a total world class hockey player ... awesome game in a losing effort ... Derrek

Rooting for the Oilers to make it, Derrek!
Be great if they could knock the Kings out of it.

Re: NHL '16 - '17 Season Thread
3 goals, 2 assists, +5 for Johnny Toews tonight. 9 points in his last 2 games Vs the Wild. He's a beast.
Hawks still with an outside chance to win the Central. I'd prefer to avoid Minnesota and St Louis in the 2st round, let them beat each other up.

Re: NHL '16 - '17 Season Thread
Your squad outplayed us in all aspects tonight. Not our best effort to say the least. Hope it's a bit of a wake up call for us. Especially with the way the Hawks turn it up a notch in the playoffs. That being said, I'm not at all worried about the Blues. The Hawks are the only team in the west I'm worried about.

Mostly agree on the Blues, Pete. Love to see the Hawks and Wild in the second or CC round.

Re: NHL '16 - '17 Season Thread
The honeymoon will wear off for Yeo.....I didn't dislike him as a coach here, but after watching how Boudreau adjusts and rewards players who are having good games in the game itself I can see why the players here gave up on him. Yeo always stayed with the vets. Even when they weren't playing well. If he does the same thing in St Louis his young players are going to quit on him there too.
