I am the janitor in an ivory tower when I'm not indoctrinating impressionable young minds with a left wing, socialist agenda. In other words, I'm a university prof.

Re: What do you do for work?
I'm on my third career.
1st career was serving in the U.S. Coast Guard for 21 years. Retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. 2nd career was for 10 years as the managing editor for a monthly hunting and fishing magazine owned by a small printing company. Currently I am a sole proprietor LLC specializing in designing print advertising for grocery stores. (You know, those sales papers you get in the newspaper telling you who has Ribeye steaks on sale for $5.99 lb.)

As for the indoctrination ... I don't discuss politics with students since I don't teach political science, nor do I have an agenda. I think outsiders would be surprised at how conservative faculty are in colleges of agriculture, where many were raised on farms or in small towns, compared to the liberal arts "I teach poetry" types.

Factory rat.
I work for an evil, soul-sucking corporation molding plastic auto parts. Job itself is cool, dealing with all the corporate BS is not. |
