Hawks just traded Andrew Ladd to Atlanta for a minor league defenseman. Color my officially "not happy".

This one puzzled me as well. I thought they had cleared up enough cap space with the last two trades.

My guess is they plan on signing a tough defenseman free-agent, or pay Niemi eleventy billion dollars a year.
