how is that Tom. Nashville and det both would have ended with 100 points.
la has 101 and would have taken 5th seed. Nashville has 3 more regulation wins then the wings so with equal points would have had 6 seed and vancouver.

now I am doing all this from my phone but I am pretty sure that's correct. I could have sworn even the Det tv announcers said the same.

I just looked at it and you are absolutely right. The Hawks announcers gave the matchups before the game, and they were wrong, and I am an idiot for quoting them without just checking myself.
