Boy the Olympic coverage on NBC really sucks. Way too much time spent on "color" stories. Who gives a crap about polar bears in Churchill, probably 1500 miles from Vancouver? I mean at any other time it's an OK story, but during the Olympics? Jeesh!

It's actually 2390 miles according to the gov't of Manitoba's fact page on Churchill

Perhaps they got confused between the spirit bears (albino bear and gizzly bears) that are sacred to the First Nations of Coastal BC and polar bears? Katie Couric did after all tell all of American that Betty Fox was the mother of Michael J Fox and that Michael J Fox has cancer instead of Parkinsons during the Opening Ceremony

I agree the story time is annoying but that is what they have to do to keep the non-sports viewers interested in the program.
