I know someone else has thought of it.
I know I have, but I don't have the oven... yet.... I was wondering about the feasibility of using a Showtime type oven, and the drum concept from BBQ roasters last year or so. Some guy has made some pretty nice drums for those that don't want to buy 20 or 30 bucks worth of parts and mess around with it.

Re: I know someone else has thought of it.
Why not buzz the sweetmarias and coffeegeek roasters forums and investigate? It might be the greatest thing since sliced coffee. On the other hand, those ovens might be under-powered dogs, not capable of heating up the mass of metal and beans to 470* in less than 20-minutes.
You can compare comments to an SCCO with 100% certainty of perfect results.

Maybe I've been spending too much time on my fire prevention merit badge while operating the Behmor, but I wonder where chaff would collect in this contraption... and the combustion possiblities.
