How do you shave?
What method do you use for shaving, goes for ladies too .
(Edit: Hey mods, I tried adding a poll right after making this post but it said I took to long. Can I still add the poll?) Last edited by kayaker; 10-21-2008 at 07:43 AM. |

Re: How do you shave?
I shave in two passes. The 1st pass is with the grain and the 2nd pass is against the grain. I apply pre shave oil, shaving cream using a badger brush, and shave with a Mach3. Follow up with some after shave balm.

Gillette Fusion, in the shower, usually no shave cream.

Re: How do you shave?
I use the Mach 3 Turbo with shaving gel on my face daily and same razor and no gel every other day on my head in the shower. I replace the blade once a week and use no after shave or cologne.

Re: How do you shave?
Use a gilette fusion in the shower. I use head shed first to exfoliate my head and face. use head slick to shave with - great stuff. Shave my head first, then my face. Usually every other day or so. Sometimes, I am scruffy for a few days.
I highly recommend that shave cream. I can use a blade for a month or more now - used to get only 2-3 shaves out of each. That is shaving my head and face, btw.

Re: How do you shave?
I shave with a traditional DE (Double edged) razor. In combination with a good lather, and proper pre-shave ritual this is hands down the best way to shave, for some people. For others this will cause irritation regardless of your technique and number of passes. For those people I would suggest simply using a beard trimmer to get a stubbled look without the irritation.

Well, my first go 'round, I use a Grizzly bear. But they give ya some serious razor burn if you shave too close, so to get the scraggly bits I usually try a flesh-eating virus. Yep, smooth as a baby's bottom.

Re: How do you shave?
Has anyone ever tried to dry their blade after shaving with a hair dryer or something? I have heard from a few people that this prolongs the life of your razor by quite a bit (this is regarding normal Gillette etc. type razors)

The silly five blade gillette, though I do have an electric for emergencies. Which have been few and far between cause I just let my beard grow out lol.

Re: How do you shave?
I don't shave, it takes too much time. And by the time I have to (wedding or getting facial hair caught in car doors) I need some clippers and then a 3 blade Gillette.
