Default Karting - Anyone do competitive?

I joined a karting league this winter. Anyone else here into karting?

I am pretty novice against the others who've been doing it years. Took the winter season to really learn the track and I hope the spring season to be towards the mid range qualifying. Definitely not easy!

Is this like go-karts? I used to do it a lot, but it's been over 15 years due to my back.

We went a lot when I was in Germany in the mid-late 2000s. It was always a great time.
Do a couple of races then get some beer and jagerschnitzel or brats. We had a decent-sized group of people that were always up for it. The more the merrier. Unfortunately, as my back deteriorated it became one of the activities I had to give up.

Here's one of the kart track near me. I've taught a lot of advanced motorcycle training on that track.

Pretty big track. The two indoor tracks I race on are about 38 second laps. 36 seconds if you're a hero.

Last night was the final night of the winter league and I feel like I was getting the hang of it. Not so much tire squeal or f up's on the hair pins. Putting down the power coming out of the corner. Still towards the bottom of the rankings, but that'll improve.

Expect better results in the spring season!
