Default Lutherans & Scotch?

Here is a link to a book by a Lutheran Pastor.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/1511813415/..._muuovb0AB6QH8

About this book.... Did you know that Darth Vader prefers Lagavulin? Were you aware that Santa Claus keeps a bottle of Caol Ila on the shelf? Have you heard that Scoresby was squeezed from the very veins of the Devil himself? Emerging from the mind of a surprising whisky connoisseur, The Angels' Portion is a substantial assortment of whisky reviews like none you’ve ever read before. By means of storytelling, with charming wit and vibrant style, Reverend Christopher I. Thoma shepherds the reader toward divine insight: If you don’t like whisky, it may only be because you haven’t danced with the right bottle.

It looks interesting. But strangely it shows the publication date as four days ago yet it's out of print.

Either...
1) A bunch of Lutheran pastors bought all available copies.
2) It was a very short run, not expecting any to sell.

3) Some other reason???

Peace of the Lord be with you.

It's actually not out of print, your copy just hasn't been printed yet. On order, they will print your book.

https://www.createspace.com/

This is often referred to as just-in-time publishing. The cool thing is that there is no big overhead for a print run for the publisher and the author has almost complete control over both the format and the content (updates can happen at any time prior to your order and they are automagically in the version you get). They also result in a substantial cost savings to the buyer as there is no warehouse or return cost to account for and no middle man to pay.

I use a textbook that is published this way. Instead of $200 like its peers, it is $3 for hardback ($24 for paperback) but it is also available online (download the PDFs or HTML or read from the website) for free. If you are a computer geek,go here: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~remzi/OSTEP/

And there's the something new I learned today. That sounds like a good way of doing things for smaller companies and limited releases. Good info, thanks!
