Default Vino temp problems

Let me start to say that I have been dormant on this site, but never have stopped my passion for cigars.

I have a small vinotemp that golf nut was so kind to build trays for. Recently my power supply has gone bad. I paid 40 bucks at a garage sale. It was great for the last 4 years. Is it worth repairing? I know the costs for a new one. Mine was a small version, and it is hard to find. Should I just live with it? Without power the humidity drops quicker, meaning I am constantly having to hydrate my rh beads. I would hate to have to buy another and negate the generosity and craftsmanship of the drawers. Your thoughts?

If the temperature and RH of your home do not go too high or too low (e.g., you heat your home in the winter and use A/C in the summer) you should be OK without the compressor.

If the drain hole is plugged then you have some other leak that you might look for. Maybe the door seal. Or, if it is not sitting level or on a hard surface that could also be a source of problems.

You might want to take a look at this thread for some suggestions:

Good Luck!

I hear ya. It was cool for awhile. For some reason, when the power stopped, the rh was very inconsistent. I also have a marine cooler that is no problem. Just really liked the trays and CA stickers on the vino. I'm almost tempted to fix the power supply, just for the mods that are done.

I taped the drain hole from day one. It doesn't have compression. Maybe I should retape the drain, but moisture was never an issue.
