Re: Remembering those lost on 9/11, 2001
I can tell you the second I heard the news. I was just entering second period freshman year and it was on the TV. we all stared on dumbfounded till the first tower fell and the teacher turned off the TV saying it was too graphic. The next period everyone was taken into classrooms with digital tv projectors to view the unfolding news...

Indeed! Families are in my prayers.
Emergency personnel are also in my prayers today, as they still serve and protect.

Re: Remembering those lost on 9/11, 2001
I don't think I'll forget that day right down to how I was standing while watching the news of the first tower having been hit & thinking to myself "some idiot doesn't know how to fly". At the time no one knew it was a jetliner. Then I watched the second plane hit & the world changed.
God bless the innocent victims & first responders |

The memorial on the side of 10 house says it all: Dedicated to those that fell, and those that carry on.

Re: Remembering those lost on 9/11, 2001
Even though I was 15 and a halfway across the country, this was a defining moment in my life. I grew up 5 minutes away from the Pentagon as well which struck an extra large nerve. While I didn't lose anyone close to me, and I wasn't there, I still remember the rage and pain I felt. It was the first time in my life I felt like I needed to do something. This event is the biggest reason I entered the world of emergency responding. I still remember that feeling I had that day and it stays with me and keeps things in perspective for me.
Never forget the people, the responders, the countless heroes, and that burning feeling deep in your being you felt that day.
