Houston area employment opps?

My best friend and fellow cigar whore got laid off recently. Any H-town peeps know of any hirings? He was with National Oilwell Vargo in their Competency program, was in oilfield field service before that. Quick learner and has a better stogie vault than myself. He was the one responsible for my slide back into cigars, as well as responsible for most of my firearms training.

Previous skill sets:

Custom holster maker at Hoffners
Houston PD
Navy SWCC
General Smartassery. (which is why we get along so well).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and possibly bomb-worthy.
