Default Simple Salmon.

Hey,

I didn't do a full search but here is a very simple recipe I use that everyone in my family likes. I imagine many folks use this recipe as I found it somewhere.

Fresh salmon fillets with skin on. I cut them up into 1/4 lb. fillets.

Make a simple marinade of:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 real maple syrup. It has to be the real stuff.
About 4-5 gloves minced up.
Maybe a little pepper but I would let them cook and taste to see if you need it.
Mix this stuff up and pour it in a gallon ziplock.
Throw your salmon fillets in there an let them marinade for at least a couple of hours.

Fire up the BBQ and get to med. high.

Put the fillets on the grill with the meat side down. Let it cook for a 4-7 minutes depending on thickness and flip onto the skin side. This will allow the skin to stick to the grate. Let them cook (slap some marinade on them) another 4-7 until done and slide your spatula just under the meat and on top of the skin. The meat should raise right up and leave the skin stuck to the grate leaving you a perfect fillet.

Yum, well at least we like it.

...it was a long day but who doesn't like minced gloves?? I can't even blame auto-correct for that one.

But I guess garlic will work too if you don't like cow skin on your salmon.

So I read through it and just as I was starting to mince the gloves up I happened to glance over and read post #3 so I and put them in anyway.

I actually used to make something similar, this sounds tasty. One the I like to do is use a vacuum bag (you can get simple pump ones at the grocery with a few starter bags from ziplock for like 4 bucks), vacuum sealing a bag is, to me, one of the best things ever for marinating.

Similar here, too. But with brown sugar vice syrup. Last time, we mixed in a couple health pinches of crushed red pepper and were thrilled with the heat/sweet effect on the fish. I'm not generally a salmon fan, but I really like this.

Dave, I am not having any luck finding vice syrup on-line, do you have a source?

Is an "isle" anything like an aisle?

I meet my contact under a bridge in northwest DC to get my vice syrup. If looking online, I'd probably go through off-shore sources and pay in bitcoins.
