Mets pick up Daisuke Matsuzaka. Alderson...this NOT an improvement in the rotation, but rather a shoring up of sorts. How about some bullpen help?

With several of their starting pitchers undergoing season-ending surgeries or brushing up against innings limits, the Mets on Thursday made a low-risk move to deepen their staff, signing former Red Sox starter Daisuke Matsuzaka. Another over the hill veteran the Mets bring in.

Harvey gave up 2 early runs, and the offense took another day off...mustering only three hits. Scherzer pitched a gem and shut us down all day...11 strikeouts and no runs. Mets lose 3-0.

Mets get ROCKED today by the Tigers, 11-3 and swept for the series.

We were completely overmatched in this series...in every aspect of the game.

Confirmed: Matt Harvey has a partially torn UCL in his throwing elbow. He could be facing Tommy John surgery which would require a minimum of a 12 month recovery. At the very least, he's now headed to the DL. There goes our ace.
