Silly cigar names
It seems to me that manufacturers are trying to outdo each other in the silly cigar name games as of late. In fact, for a while, I thought that the Homemade Sausage thread was a review.
This is a place to list the names of the cigars that you find silly and perhaps comment on them (no reviews, please). I'm thinking comments more along the lines of "what the heck were they thinking? Well, here's my guess". It will perhaps also function as a repository of silly names for future reference, just in case the unspeakable should happen and a vitola not be successful. It's all tongue in cheek and not meant to be taken seriously, so let's not get in to arguments, m'kay.

Re: Silly cigar names
All the Opus names Carlito has fun coming up with("***** Cat", "***** Juice"/"Vulva", "BBMF", etc.). As ridiculous as they are, I respect the fact that Carlito doesn't allow the public perception of someone coming out with cigar names like that to change the fact that he can have a little fun on the side while still making good smokes.

Re: Silly cigar names
While there are some "goofy" names for sticks out there...some are actually very good. Prime example of one of the most recent is the Viaje White Label Project Stuffed Turkey Dark Meat. A very crazy name, but a damn fine stick.

Re: Silly cigar names
It isn't about how good the cigar is, it is about how silly the name is. Your example is a fine example of "what the heck were they thinking". But if you get stuffed turkey dark meat flavors, then I guess that the name isn't silly but apt.

Re: Silly cigar names
The yeast infection is a creamy smoke, full of interesting flavors and a slight cheesy taste profile. Brie maybe?

Genesis: The Project.
Is it based on the Bible? A classified military operation? All I know is that if the cigar's name contains a colon, it should be reconsidered. |
