Default Re: Third Annual Fantasy Football for Stakes and the Troops

I got the prizes all packed up today. They'll be going with the mail lady tomorrow.

Matt asked for me to drop a fiver of his sticks on Cole as a Thank You for running the league. Very nice gesture, Matt. Thank You!!!
I sent Cole the consolation bracket fiver that I donated at the beginning of the year. I split stuff up as evenly as possible, and in my prize there were only a handful I figured I'd smoke, so I sent the rest to Cole as a Thank You for running the league this year. He certainly deserves it, he's done a hell of a job with everything, including keeping excellent records on the Pass. Thank You, Cole!!!

The final tally was:
25 sticks to Matt, our Champion.
9 sticks to me, Second Place.
10 to Scott for Third Place
21 to Cole for Consolation and Thank You's.

Sorry brother...coming from DC these shouldn't take more than a day or 2 to get to you. Hopefully they show tomorrow.

Was a delivery confirmation ever mentioned?

That's a good looking pile of smokes, Cole. You're set for a little bit.

I tried like hell to lose some bets there at the end. Between that and nearly winning out after an awful start, I definitely had the kiss of luck.

Matt and I will continue to pwn this league as per the rules we set that we didn't show the rest of you guys. It works out great. It's especially fun to watch the squirming from the top.

Last but not least, I'd like to kick Jeremy in his nuts for holding up the pass this long and being a dick. I still love him, but he's putting a serious strain on our relationship. No wonder he never gets laid.

I worked on the pass today.
Thank You to whoever included the 95 QDO Panatella and the pair of 11 PLpc's for me. I can't remember anyone threatening to send them, and it was an awesome surprise!!!

I'll list my puts and takes and get Cole all squared away in a minute, it'll take me awhile to type all that stuff.

Default Re: Third Annual Fantasy Football for Stakes and the Troops

Smokes I retrieved from my initial seeding...
CC
2- La Flor de Cano Preferido
2 - 00 Vegueros Seaone
2 - 10 Quintero Brevas
1 11 HDM Du Gourmet
1 - 11 SC El Principe
1 - 10 VR Famosos
2 - 02 LGC MdO #3
1 - 10 Fonseca Cadetes
1 - 11 Upmann pc
1 - 11 Cohiba Panatella
1 - 06 Punch Margarita
1 - 11 Trini Reyes (list says Stephen took it, but it's one I seeded and was still there)
NC
1 - 08 AVO Maduro
1 - 10 Airbender
1 - UZI
1 - 08 Old Henry Maduro

I took...
2 very dark PLpc's, unmarked
10 Opus
La Aurora Corojo
PAM #35
Opus FF

I put...
CAO America
Diamond Crown Robusto #5
06 Oliva Grand Maduro
Bolivar Canada Excclusivo
Robaina Canada Exclusivo

So I seeded 51, retrieved 22, took 6 and put 5. I'll donate the other 29 cigars I seeded to the pass to make up for my extra take and lack of my 2 extra smokes, if that's cool with everyone.
On second thought, nevermind that.
I just added to my puts...
1 - 09 Illusione Nosostros
1 - 2011 Ramon Allones Edicion Limitada
1 - 11 RASS
1 - 11 Party Short
That should do.

Default Re: Third Annual Fantasy Football for Stakes and the Troops

Cole, I don't know who I'm sending the pass to, or if we even have enough participants to send it around again. There's no sense in sending it if we don't have at least 5 or 6 guys, I don't think. Not enough turnover to make it worthwhile.
If we choose against sending it, we can start it up again at any time. Maybe send it around for the draft, when guys come to camp, then start back up during preseason?

Between now and next year I think we should come together as a league and publish our own rules booklet, such as most money leagues do. As our pass evolves, and our prizes get larger, we really do have a big investment in our league. Some hard rules involving the timely movement of the pass are going to be necessary, we discussed a fine of troop cigars. It sounded like a great idea and was very fair. Great incentive to keep the pass moving and if it's not, the troops benefit.
We should probably standardize our scoring, as well. We can discuss all sorts of things in the offseason. I'm going to hope and pray that Cole will continue to share Commish duties, and get him Commish access at Yahoo next year. That doesn't really mean anything, the Commish does nothing in our league except set the draft and send emails.

I expect Cole and I will brainstorm most everything and then put the items to the league for a vote, if necessary. Hopefully we can draft rules from what we've always done. We can also spell out the pass rules in a little flyer rather than try to dig through the thread for all the info.
If anyone wants to be involved in working with Cole and I on these sorts of things, just let us know. (Sorry for drafting you, Cole. )
It'd be nice to have as many guys involved as possible, but mind ya, it'll be nothing dramatic. Certainly nothing to feel the need to concern yourselves with unless you'll enjoy it.
