Spanish Cedar Lining question
I am planning a humidor project, which I will probably document with pics. I am planning on resawing spanish cedar and lining my piece.
I had been planning on resawing 1/4" thickness. I started to wonder... is there any need, or benefit of making the spanish cedar thicker? What would happen if I lined the piece with 3/8" spanish cedar? I realize I would lose some area and my wallet would be a little lighter. Would this actually provide any added benefit to my cigars? Thanks.

Personally I think just a good laminate job would be more than adequate.

Re: Spanish Cedar Lining question
It is my understanding that the thicker the cedar the more protection you will have from spikes in humidity. A bigger buffer so to speak.

Re: Spanish Cedar Lining question
Anything thicker than 1/4" is not going to give you any more buffer for RH unless you plan to let your humidification run dry for months. Most humidors use veneer, 1/4 lumber is going to be just fine. Just be sure that if you plan on making larger panels, do your glue ups with a bit thicker stock and then run the entire panel through a wide belt sander. Local cabinet shops are usually willing to help you with this if you don't have one of your own.
