Humidor question
My Humidor is on it's 7th day. I'm using an Oasis XL humidifier with an additional hygrometer in the top tray. Both are readin within 1% of each other. The humidity is fluctuating about 3% over the course of a day.The humidity runs around 72% to 75%. Am I ok?

Re: Humidor question
Everyone's tastes are different. I'm fine with anything between 60-67%rh (*though prefer 62-65). Simple things like small temp swings will effect RH as well.
Seasoning a humi, and having everything inside it acclimate afterwards, does take time. I would start to look at things after a month or 2, instead of a week. As long as it's holding humidity, anyways.

Re: Humidor question
i would def get it down maybe around 68...why is it fluctuating? should stay pretty solid, is it changing cause the temp in the house is changing? might needs some beads to help regulate it...

Re: Humidor question
The Oasis can be way off from what you set it at and change over time. I'd probably set it at 65 and go from there. I've had mine up to 82 to maintain 65 all the way down to 58....

Re: Humidor question
Was the humidor seasoned?
The hygrometers. Analog or digital? Were they tested/calibrated? Does the humidor have cigars in it? I prefer 60-65 % RH but your experience may be different. Personally, I would start at 65 and adjust up or down from there. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Humidor question
Yes, it was seasoned, the hygrometers are digital and calibrated. It's the Thompson Barrel humidor and has the thompson's in it (which I figure is good for sucking up moisture) I have a few sticks in it. Does the top tray usually run a little higher? I leaving for work in a minute. I'll answer from my phone in a bit.
