Potential spoiler to all who haven't seen last night's episode... As for the hand, I think that Deb will find it and then think he was working with his brother. That's just my opinion. The ramifications of Deb seeing him are HUGE! (obviously) Will he admit anything to her? Will he say that it was because he tried to kill him (i.e. explain the boat thing, rather than that he fell off). Will she take him down, and how will the series end? Will the next 2 seasons be all about him being on trial, assuming Deb turns him in? You had to figure at some point that his luck would end, and someone would find him/catch him, but not with 2 full seasons left. Dammit! When the hell will it be back on?!?!?! |

I seriously doubt that happens. I'm not sure what rights Jeff Lindsay has to his character that he created in his novels, but I would think that he would have some input on the final destination of his creation on the tv series too (even if they have gone a completely different direction than the novels). I don't think he'd be happy seeing his character be stopped by a trial. Too anti-climatic to me.

I always knew Deb would find out, I didn't think it would be this way!
I thought she would start to put the pieces together, not witness it. This opens a lot of dark doors. Does Dexter run? Does his survival instinct kick in and he kills Deb? Does she accept Dexter for who he is, much the way her father did? Lots of directions for this to go in.

IIRC they said 2 more have been signed. So we know there is at least 2 left. Personally it's a great show but I don't see it going any longer than 2 more seasons. 7 Seasons is a long run for a show.

You know, I find myself going back and watching seasons 1-3 over and over again. After what happened at the end of season 4, it seems like the stories are getting more stale and insipid.
I still love the show, and the return of Christian Camargo in the first few episodes of season 6 was kinda fun (READ: "Road trip..."), and the last 30 seconds of an otherwise very linear and boring finale was enough time to keep me locked and loaded for the last two seasons. Dexter won't be taken alive. Debra has to be the one to end him. It's the only option that makes sense to me... |

I would really be disappointed if Debra ends him. I'd rather she turn her head.....
Or team up with him. Something different, I'm sure they can come up with something.

The cool thing about the writing team is that they allow Michael C. Hall a tremendous amount of influence in the creative process, since after 6 years of playing the man, nobody outside of Jeff Lindsay knows Dexter Morgan better as a personality.
