Default Wireless Temp/Humidity Monitor + extra sensors

http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/9023/index.php

mrsreindeer got me one of these plus 2 extra sensors (total of 3 sensors) for the holidays and this OCD SOB is really digging the ability to monitor 3 different areas within the Vino.

This product has been posted a few times on the forum in the past but I figured I'd resurrect it in a new thread devoted specifically to this since I like it so much and I figured a recent review would be helpful to those who are looking for something like this (as I've seen several requests on here lately).

The basic setup costs $34.95 and each additional sensor costs another $24.95 for a maximum of 3 sensors. Each unit/sensor takes 2 double AA batteries. The full system costs: $84.85 plus shipping.

There is another vendor online that has the basic setup on sale, however, they do not have the extra sensors. The only other unit that is similar to this is the Oregon Scientific which I've found sold-out online.

It was very easy to set up; insert batteries in base unit, then follow by inserting the batteries in one sensor. Let the unit acknowledge the first sensor and then repeat with the next one, then repeat with the last and third sensor.

The relatively small base unit stands on top of your Vino or can be mounted on the wall. A simple press of the 'set/ch' button swaps your temp/humidity from one through three. The unit keeps track of min/max temps & humidity, a nice feature so you can tell the swings within your Vino, cooler or cabinet. And I love that I don't have to open up the Vino to check my temp and humidity readings.

The only downside that I see so far is that the sensors are a bit larger than I would have liked but they're really only about twice the size of a regular digital hygrometer. I haven't salt tested the sensors yet but they're reading a little below my digital right now. Perhaps they need a little time to settle. I think I'll salt test them eventually just to check their accuracy but as long as they're close, I'm fine with it.

Looks really cool, any pics of them in your vino for size comparison?

I don't have a vino, but we do have one of the LaCrosse weather stations. In addition to the base station, I have an outdoor sensor & one in the garage/workout room. Those sensors have always been deadly accurate. They're great Good luck with yours!

Thanks Gerard; and that's very good to know!

Brandon, I'm having trouble uploading pics; I'll continue working on it and post here when I can.
