What was your first?
Pretty simple. What was your first cigar?
My first was an H. Upmann toro in tube.

Re: What was your first?
something really horrible that caused me not to try one again for years.
Moment of conversion was a Padron (forget which one) many years later |

Re: What was your first?
Philly or is it Phillie Blunt. It coincided with my first "jungle juice" which coincided with the first couple of times l threw up out of moving car.
Conversion stick--can't remember but I was fond of Royal Jamacians and Sosa torpedos. I had a cuban H Upmann tubo early in my storied cigar career that was pretty much wasted on my inexperienced palate.

Re: What was your first?
Fairly it certain it was a Swisher Sweet I picked up for Gar Night at my dorm in early 80's. Hard to believe, but we smoked in the lounge on every other floor back then. Mornings after Gar-Nights were some of the worst.

Re: What was your first?
The first several cigars I had were unbanded, so I don't know what they were. The first one I bought was a Macanudo Portofino.

Re: What was your first?
First cigar would be a black and mild plastic tip, wine flavor. I threw up shortly thereafter, but I suspect it had something to do with the Popov vodka I was drinking after prom and not the cigar....I haven't drank vodka since and still get nauseous when I smell black and milds...
First actual cigar would be a Nica Libre toro. Smoked lots of Nica Libres back in the day! Now, I can't get near them. |

A Hemingway Classic. 4 years later I still blame(read: thank) George for getting me started on this wild ride. He even got me to appreciate Padrons with my third ever cigar the bastid
