Cigarfest email from CI
Just got an email from CI inviting me to preregister for the opportunity to buy a ticket for cigar fest 2013 April 27-28. I figured why not? Looks like fun. Anybody here thinking about going? I may even get a room at the resort and stay over Saturday night.

I really want to make it this year. I just need to find the right time to request off/ask permission.

Re: Cigarfest email from CI
Last year was my first year and it was a lot of fun. It is worth the price of the ticket to get about 40 cigars plus extra swag. You can find a few cigars you haven't tried yet. I spent about 5 minutes chattign with Nick Perdomo and Rocky Patel, and Shorty Rossi. There are a ton of give away prizes, some good sales on items. There were only a few beer brewers offering free samples, as many as you wanted, and a few wines. Food was good. The shirt and hat are decent deals if you want them, but the cigars are swag that came with them weren't specatacular.
I am absolutely going again this year. I've been waiting for the email on it and am anxious to get my tickets and go again. The plan this year is to arrive in the morning and tailgate and make breakfast.

I went in 2008 and had breakfast with Ernie Carrillo. It was a lot of fun.

I was gonna CigarNut it again this yr to make it #8 but the Quick Buy Killed that Option at $250. Looks like I might take my Money to the LCDH in Montreal instead. Its about the same amount of driving for me and I think the Cigars are a bit better...

Re: Cigarfest email from CI
I was very fortunate to get three tix for the event this year. According to the site, they are sold out. As an IT guy, I'd love to know more about the server and software they use to handle the crush of orders. For now, I'm happy to know I'll be there with two friends on 4/26.

I ended up not getting tickets - I'd forgotten I was committed to a trip to NYC this weekend with the wife and #4 son.
