The Golden Cigar - seriously, a 24k gold wrapped cigar
http://thegoldencigar.com/
Daniel Marshall claims to have created "The Most Exclusive Cigar in the World". Prices seem to range around $200.00 to $250.00 EACH! They actually sand the cigars with sandpaper "...to make the surface smooth as possible of the tobacco wrapper" and apply 24kt gold leaf using bakers sugar glaze. And they are actually supposed to be smoked - how that will happen with an oxygen-starving gold wrapper is a good question, but apparently Robb Report had one... Click on "story" and "how we create..."

Re: The Golden Cigar - seriously, a 24k gold wrapped cigar
A number of years ago, there was a cigar called, IIRC, the Golden Zeus which also was a gold plated cigar. I don't recall any pricing though.

Re: The Golden Cigar - seriously, a 24k gold wrapped cigar
I'm a skeptic when I read rated reviews since most tend to go higher with price and limited-editioness. Could be a dried turd in there, but these would be a shoehorn for at least a 95 based on the goldleaf wrapper alone.
If they buy a double-page ad in CA, they will get a 95 in there too. There's also a joke to be made about 'pelo de oro' in here. |

Re: The Golden Cigar - seriously, a 24k gold wrapped cigar
I like to smoke cigars that the filler, binder, and wrapper made from fermented and aged 100 bills. I cut them with a scissors that's blades are diamonds cut from Tavernier Blue, and light them with cedar spills shaved from reclaimed sunken old growth cedar trees. I wouldn't let that crappy gold leaf touch my beautiful pallet.

$250? I'll take a BOX of RASCC and a BOX of El Principes, please, and get a couple tacos with the change.

I'd smoke one just for the pain and humiliation I'd get on here... I'm a masochist.

Crazy. Can't imagine what the angle would be for a manufacturer except to make a splash.
I wouldn't smoke one on a bet, though. Vaporizing and inhaling heavy metals is never a good idea.

Vaporizing a heavy metal and forcing it into your lungs...I just can't see how that's a good idea at all. But hey, I make that judgment for myself only. If anyone tries the thing and reviews it, I'll be interested to read it.
