Default Guitar Center help needed

If anyone is headed to a guitar center today, They are having a helluva sale on a few items. I unfortunately am about 150 miles from the nearest one to me

Anywho, I was able to order everything I needed online- except for the deal on acoustic guitar strings. Martin bronze strings, 5 sets for only $15.

So, if anyone is headed to one today, let me know. I can either playpal funds to cover the strings and shipping, or I can send some ceegars in trade.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help out! I know it's a weird request, but there are some guitarists on here who might be making the trip anyways.

I'll go have a look for you, later today. I was planning on going in, in about an hour or so. They have a Schecter C1 custom 7 on sale, that I've been looking at getting.

Thanks, bro! I prefer medium strings, but will take whatever they have available.

7string guitar? Never played one before. What's the advantages? It would be interesting to mess around on I bet.

I bought the Shure sm48 mic, a pair of guitar stands, and the cheap acoustic they have for $69. My four year old has been extremely interested in my guitar lately, so I mainly bought it so he doesn't break mine lol. But I'm bringing it to a local luthier to get it set up properly. I bet the action will be terrible at best upon arrival.

Hopefully they have enough of them for me to pick some up for you. Last year the store was picked apart haha.

7 string guitars, are my preference now. I love the extra low note you get from the top string. I have 8 different 7s. Some baritone, some not. The best thing, for me, is the fact that you can make a chord so much more full and deep with a low 5th dropped into it (via the top string). It opens up so many more possibilities in scaling and whatnot. Although, you have people who get 7 strings just to chug a drop F# power chord and act hard...but, it's whatever.

I would encourage you to try one out at a local shop, because it took me a LONG time to get accustomed to the bigger neck and the new string. It is very rewarding when you learn to just use it with what you normally play

I kinda figured with that price, they'd be going quick. Hopefully they have something left!

Closest guitar shop of any kind is about 80 miles away from me. But I think I'm headed that direction next weekend. I'll grab a seven to try it out. I like the idea, but that's gotta be a pretty wide neck.

It isn't horribly bigger. It's big enough to throw off your appregios until you get used to it.

If is it a printed price, you can go to Musicians Friend and have them price match it and beat it by 10% of the different. Even though they are the same company, I always find that they will honor it. So will most of the other music stores online.

It is a printed price, but also states "in-store only". Don't know if that would be a problem.

They have always honored them for me. They even issued a better discount one time and they refunded me the difference.

I'm going to see how this pans out first. If this doesn't work, I'll explore that route. Thanks for the tip!

I just got home from GC. They were out of all the Martin strings...as well as almost all other strings. I'm sorry, man. I even asked if they had backstock, but it was all bought out.

The Schecter I went to look at was also gone...so it was a lose/lose.

Sorry, again.

And about the Musicians Friend. If you prove that they are on sale for that, they'll most likely honor it. It's their policy.

I'm sorry, again. Hopefully someone else can find some

No worries, brother. Thanks for checking! I just went to musicians friend, and they have the strings on sale for 4.49. I'll just do that.

There are some good coupons going around on all the sites this weekend. Alas, all the good stuff seems to be going quickly. I tried to pick up a Hughes and Kettner tubemeister 18 from Samash with $100 off and it was sold out. Music123 wouldn't honor the coupon so on to Musicians Friend to see if they will honor it.

Now that I think about it, I have no idea why I bought a microphone. I have nowhere to even plug one in. Maybe I'll check out some recording software and get a USB plug for it.

I wish I could have helped you out, man. I was bummed.

Tascam recording hardware is what I used before I had enough for studio time. It works really well. You wanna go mid priced and up, because the cheaper ones have clipping issues when you upload them to a PC.

No worries. I'm not bummed. I appreciate that you checked it out for me!

I was referring to recording software, like Cakewalk, not hardware. Though that is a great idea too. But still leaves me with a mic I can't use lol.

Im not familiar with any software, other than protools. Pretty much any software with a good mixer is the best. I wouldnt recommend protools unless you take a class, because it is an exhausting program to learn. Very well worth it, though!

You can't make the music any better with software than what you recorded. I would at least plug into something more like this:
