Re: An Interview with Pete Johnson
Sounds like Pete is taking an idea from Cuba with the new "book" style box coming out

Re: An Interview with Pete Johnson
Really enjoyed this interview. I like to see Pete's passion about cigars. It gives me a ton to think about in the industry. Us newer cigar smokers should really take the time to watch these clips.

Re: An Interview with Pete Johnson
This interview if watched should give even the haters a lot of respect for Pete and where he stands as far as the industry is concerned. I guarantee most guys if given the opportunity to speak to Pete for a bit will have a new found respect for him.

Re: An Interview with Pete Johnson
Pete seems like a great person. I don't smoke a lot of his stuff, if at all, but many people do. It bugs me a bit the way the brand markets though.

I think he does speak to this point a little bit in the interview.

In which way?
Because he makes a lot of limited items? Because of his adds? Just curious about what you meant as I find Tatuaje much less annoying than many other marketing strategies in the industry.

Re: An Interview with Pete Johnson
I don't really want to go deep into it, but for example to show you where my opinion is coming from, in this very same interview that MJ posted, Pete talks about how he calls people out on BS marketing in the cigar industry. He claims there is such BS involved and some cigar makers lie to the consumer. That's all fine and dandy. But he then proceeds to make a comment about how his new cigars coming out will be packaged in "book" style boxes... Pete and George have a good laugh about it and even joke about "where that idea came from". I guess I'm in the minority here, but it just rubs me the wrong way. And this is just one example. People shouldn't try to mimic havanas in DR or Nic or Hond., whether it's blends or packaging. Again, this is just my little old opinion and I have nothing agaisnt Pete. I think it would be cool to hang out with him and smoke a cigar or two.

Re: An Interview with Pete Johnson
Where'd you get that idea?
I ain't hatin'. I wish more companies would follow Pete's lead and emulate more of the Cuban traditions.

Re: An Interview with Pete Johnson
Just watched part 4. Interesting that Pete thinks that there's now way you can tell an Epi 2 to a PSD4 these days. Wow. Another interesting thing he said was that if you buy fresh CC's that have that "green" aspect to them, they will never age well. A green cigar will be a green cigar 5 years from now?? Oh well, interesting videos to watch
