Venetian Hotel in Vegas
Taking my girlfriend of 4 months to Vegas in February to celebrate both our birthdays that happen to be three days apart. She has never been to Vegas and I really want to knock her socks off. Has anyone stayed at the Venetian? I can get a room for around 600 bucks with my government discount. I stayed at the Bellagio last time I was there but their rates are really high and would rather spend the money doing things on the strip. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, anyone know where to get discounted tickets for Cirque de Sole?

My only time in Vegas I stayed at the Venetian. The place is beautiful inside and out and being on the strip you can get around easily. IMO they also have the best looking cocktail girls in Vegas.

The Venetian has beautiful, comfortable rooms, a really nice casino and awesome pool area. The restaurants are excellent, I tried most of them while I was there. They had some great shows too, we saw Blue Man Group. There is also a nice little cigar alcove near the hotel elevators. The only issue I could think of was that the fridge was full of very expensive products that you paid for if you moved them. This made it difficult to store leftovers (my wife and I always ordered an appetizer and split an entree to avoid leftovers.) As the Venetian is the only place I've ever stayed in Vegas, I can't compare it to other places.

Tickets 4 Tonight
http://www.tix4tonight.com/locations.html Some of them have better deals than others, but it will save you a bit of money on show tickets. You have to go the same day, but there is still some pretty good selections and seats at most shows.

Re: Venetian Hotel in Vegas
I've stayed at the Venetian many times. It is a very nice resort. The best thing about it, is the price keeps out families with children.

Re: Venetian Hotel in Vegas
I think 3 nights for that price is good; given that normal room prices for a regular offseason weekend go for about 300 or so a night. I've stayed there and Palazzo a total of 3 times; and each time was great in exception to the time staying at the Venezia tower. You can also take your girlfriend on the gondala ride that goes in and around the resort...and as far as discounts on shows; I've only seen them comped to those who gamble a lot.

If your not renting a car, you might want to get limo service to and from the airport. It costs a little more (not much) than a cab and will pay off big with the girl friend. Presidential limo has a round trip deal with champagne and a rose for her.
Sign up for email specials at all the hotels you would stay at. I get emails everyday with deals. Venetian is nice so you can't go wrong there. Wynn is close to the Venetian and worth going over for a drink and a looksie. Nice place. If she wants to shop take her to Ceasers forum shops and you can sit at Casa fuente and have a cigar while she shops. There are 4 different circ shows. I've seen them all but the naked one. Bettles/love is the best imo. Use that show ticket discount above if you want to save some bucks and are flexible on what show you are going to see. Hope you have a great time. |

Re: Venetian Hotel in Vegas
Even with your government discount $600 will get you 4 nights max... King size bed, nothing more. How do I know? Because I also get the government discount and it cost me $150 per night. Room only. And be prepared
Because they are going to charge your card for $100 upfront for incidentals and there's no way our of it. Of course if you don't even look at the minibar and refrain from picking up the bags of candy on the counter they will refund your money at the end of your stay. That being said, the Venetian/Palazzo are among the best in Vegas. If you're looking for cheapest hotel stay, go for the Excalibur, the Tropicana or hell, even though it sounds ghetto... The Hooters hotel is actually surprisingly nice with good rates under $100 per night if you're lucky. If you're looking for the best Vegas experience, you should be prepared to shell out the dough. |

Re: Venetian Hotel in Vegas
thanks for all the input guys, really appreciated. How is the Monte Carlo? I was thinking about trying to save a little on the room and spending it on other stuff while we are there such as limo service and shows.

Re: Venetian Hotel in Vegas
Went with the mgm grand and reserved one of their newly renovated grand king room. Got it so a half dozen red roses and a bottle of Chianti will be delivered upon our arrival. Going to tell the gf I love her for the first time. Thinking the limo service to and from the airport will be a good idea too.
