Joya de Nicaragua Classico claro torpedo
This is one of the many new cigars on the Dutch market and one of the two Joya de Nicaragua blends that got introduced to the Dutch market recently. The Joya de Nicaragua Classico claro torpedo measures 6x54 and has a fixed price of 4 euro here. The cigar has a Connecticut shade wrapper and I don’t like Connecticut shade but decided to give it a try anyway.
The cigar has a light colored wrapper with a few veins and a simple band. I don’t like the look of the wrapper which is mild oily. There are a few soft spots in the construction but the predraw is good and tastes like musty wood I taste musty wood and leaves with a bit of bitter spiciness. After an inch I taste some musty wood with a bit of a herbal aftertaste. Halfway I taste more herbs, still musty though, and something spicy in the aftertaste. After two thirds the cigar gets even more musty with wood, herbs and some white pepper. This cigar lasted me for ninety minutes. The draw and the burn were great and I got a lot of thick smoke. The silver grey ash isn’t firm. This cigar is medium to full flavoured and medium bodied. Would I buy this cigar again? No, this cigar proves again that Connecticut shade isn’t my thing Appearance: 7 / 10 Construction: 7 / 10 Draw: 8 / 10 Burn: 8 / 10 Smoke & ash: 7 / 10 Aroma first part: 6 / 10 Aroma second part: 6 / 10 Aroma third part: 6 / 10
