Obsidian Cigar
Any of you guys seen these? I saw them in the new cigar.com catalog and am intrigued. The blend sounds great and they have a menacing black band that almost covers the whole cigar. They are made by the same folks that make the PDR's. Anyone smoked one? I might jump on a box since they are pretty cheap.

Re: Obsidian Cigar
I knew it would someday come to this.
First there were none... Then they were simple, small and understated... Then they became more fancy, more complex... Then they grew... Sometimes there were even two... Then they grew some more... Now, it has finally been accomplished... After years of intensive research and work... ...someone finally put out a cigar with a bigger band than Gurkha. |

Re: Obsidian Cigar
Wow... Those do have a huge band... at first I thought you were talking about the Padilla Obsidian... I haven't seen these new ones tho. Looks tempting, and usually that means way out of my price range. However, after looking at CI these are not.. I am so confused!

Re: Obsidian Cigar
I wonder if the huge band is to hide all the imperfections in the wrapper.
Dang, imagine all the torn wrappers these sticks could have if they use too much glue on the band...

I want to try them as they are the only recent cigar CI has advertised that doesn't cost a left testicle.

Re: Obsidian Cigar
Glad you pointed out the fact about the glue on the band. Didn't think about that. Would be pissed if I ruined a whole box trying to remove the bands.

Re: Obsidian Cigar
I was looking at these as well very interesting band not to mention the unusual price diference between a single stick and a box. Take the double perfecto, $8.00 single- $74.95 for a box of 20. That figures to about $3.75 a stick when bought by the box. I know you generally get a box discount but jeez over 50% off is a little unusual.
