Cheap bastid review: Vista de Cuba (by Oliveros)
$2 flat at the B&M. The only other Oliveros cigar I've tried is the Classic and I didn't like them at all. But for $2 I'm willing to give most cigars at least 1 shot.
This is a 6 X 50 toro. Ugly wrapper, kinda dull looking with a few blemishes. The cigar seems to be well-rolled, it's not misshapen and doesn't have any soft spots. Also has a nice weight in the hand. First few draws are earthy and sweet, a bit tangy on the finish. Nice enough aroma, not attention grabbing but not unpleasant by any means. Burn is pretty crooked and the cigar is burning kinda fast. About 1" in a hint of cinnamon comes in and the sweetness is gone. About 2" in the cinnamon is gone and the flavor is very earthy and a bit grassy. Not bad, but meh. The burn is much better. Winding down, the flavor gets even earthier and has mellowed a bit. Let it die a little under 2". Final thoughts...Meh. Not bad but I probably wouldn't smoke them regularly.
