Default Best B & M's in Tucson?

I will be there this week and wonder if anyone has any info on atmosphere, selection and prices. Thanks.

Well the Tinderbox has a decent selection but a small smoking area. I like Anthony's Cigar Emporium more than the Tinderbox though.

So much to say, but can't say it. Just a heads-up. If you are a customer of Anthony's north store, you might notice that Tyler is no longer there, and that the new GM has ZERO (and I do mean nil) knowledge of cigars, pipes, tobacco or accessories.

Don't count on Anthony's being the same place it used to be. Its a shame. Used to be a great place under a former management.

Ah man. Tyler was one of the guys that helped me when I first started smoking cigars outside of Habanos Torres.

I think Tinderbox is the best. They have fair prices and don't really try to rip you off. Anthony's on Grant, I have gotten some good deals at also but I don't think they maintain their humidor as well as Tinderbox. Found some Mold of some stuff there before.

I went to Tinderbox every morniing and the other places at night. Ben and Mike the manager at Tinderbox are good guys. I went to Jerry's too and liked it. Both Anthony's were unkempt and smoky like a bar. The South Anthony's had some of the new cigars I wanted to try but I only went once. I got a Centurion there for half price.

Great glad you liked the Tinderbox. They sell their Opus X there at MSRP and the guys are great. You are right about Anthony's it is terribly smokey in that place!

I enjoy the atmosphere of Anthony's on Grant & Swan over the Tinderbox. Been over six months since I've been in either, however.

Product was close to the same in both, but found more 'rare' stuff @ Anthony's.

Crowd at Anthony's tends to be a bit 'younger', IMHO....

The good news? Both are within about three miles of each other, so visit both!

You must hit it at a different time than I've hit it!! Always a bunch of old guys (older than me, so that makes them OLD!!!!) smoking in the smoke room! Almost is always the same bunch, too. But, then again, all I've ever smoked in is the northern store. Been in the other one exactly once!

Never made it to the Tenderbox. My son would disown me if I ever went to Jerry's while I was Tucson!

Why would your son disown you? Anthony's on Grant had the best selection. I wanted to pick up a La Riqueza while there but I did not have time to go back.

Because he works at one of the aforementioned shops that is a competitor of Jerry's

That's why a Bama guy has spent many hours smoking in a Tucson cigar store!!

I am headed to Tucson next week, Kirk (kgoings) and I are going to hang out on Tuesday. Can you guys recommend anyplace we can eat and smoke outside? Also, if I purchase from a B&M can I smoke my own stuff? I am thinking Anthony's looks like a good spot.

Darrell,

Aside from the suggestions I've made, I don't know of any others that will be good. Wish I was still in Tucson to herf with you.

Have a good time, and tell the desert that I said 'hi'
