For my family budget I export my checkbook ledger to Excel format from my online banking application, then copy and paste it to the running ledger I keep in Excel. The the right of the table of data I use the first available column to enter budget categories for each line item. Then make a pivot table based on the data. Super simple and highly adjustable way to look at and control your spending. |
