Habanna 2000 Wrapper
Back about 8 years ago there were a lot of brands with this wrapper. Now the only one i can find is the Monte's. Does anyone know of another brand with this wrapper that is still available?

Mayorga uses a Habana 2000, also a JR cigar.

I believe most of them are now sold as a more environmental alternative to asbestos...

Re: Habanna 2000 Wrapper
Ya now that you mention it. I had some Maria Mancini's and Cabana y carbajal. with those wrappers. used get some serious tunneling, but the upside was that wrapper had some nice flavor. Its been about 8-10 years since I had that wrapper

Re: Habanna 2000 Wrapper
This is an interesting article about the H2000 wrapper and the dispute between JR and Rocky

Re: Habanna 2000 Wrapper
From what I recall it is still around, they just changed the name to habano and dropped the 2000 due to the "asbestos" issues of the early years of the hybrid wrapper.

Re: Habanna 2000 Wrapper
From what I understand, Habana 2000 is a trademarked name for that wrapper, trademark owned by General Cigar (now Swedish Match). Anyone else that uses the wrapper has to call it something else, such as H2000 or Habano. As far as I know they are all the same wrapper by different names.
edit. I see the linked article has basically the same information...that's probably where I read about it the first time. |

Re: Habanna 2000 Wrapper
I started some Havanah 2000 seed, along with Perique and San Andres MX. The plants are nice, I grew them last year, too.
First time I ever heard of it was when Richard (tzaddi) sent the seed. This makes twice.

Now I noticed that the Indian tabac super fuerte has a wrapper similar to that. they are calling it a maduro from Nic. but it has that reddish brown color the H2000 wrapper had. CI has them for 55.00. I think I am going to give them a try |

Re: Habanna 2000 Wrapper
I always like the flavor profile of this wrapper, and to tell the truth I didn't have any more issues with them then I still have with some of the thicker maduro wrappers on the market today.

The IT Maduros are a dyed wrapper. They bleed all over my face and fingers, but they're still a decent cigar, especially for the price. They seem to have a similar wrapper to the Fuerte. I'll have to take a look at them. Thank You!!!
