Smoke me if you can...
|
![]()
Question: If given a choice which cigar would you prefer to smoke a Padilla or one made by Don Pepin Garcia? I would have a tough choice since I love both so much. And if you can tell me why you prefer one over the other. Thanks for your post.

Padillas are not bad smokes by any means, in fact I was just getting ready to smoke a Miami tonight, but I have to say that there are a wider variety of sticks that Pepin puts out that I really enjoy, versus only a few Padillas that I like. The DPG blue label is one of my favorite NCs. If you like these full flavored Nicaraguan cigars, check out Illusione and Tatuaje(made by Pepin).

Between the two I would pick DPG. I still got some of the older Padilla Miami 8/11's made by DPG which are great sticks and some of his best imho.

I would choose Pepin because all of his cigars are at least "good," whereas I've had mixed results with Padilla: The 1932 lancero is great...the Dominus is blah, imo. What's your choice, brigey57?

![]() The Signature 1932 is one of my favorite 'gars, but overall, I only really like about 2/3 of the Padilla line--the rest are just okay. I can't think of any Padilla cigars that I don't like at all. However, I like just about every DPG stick I've ever had, some more than others. |

As much as I love the Miami and the 1932, Pepin just has so many great cigars...gotta be the Don.

I've only had the '68, '48, and the Miami, but I didn't care for any of the new blends I've had so far.

If I had to go to my humidor and pick out one cigar from either to smoke it would be the Padilla Miami Robusto, I just love the flavors I get from it and its Corojo wrapper!
But overall there is no doubt that Pepin makes more better cigars then Padilla, but then again who makes (blends) more cigars then Pepin? |
