La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5
I was gifted this stick in a PIF.
Nice afternoon on the back porch. Temp about 75... low humidity for FL. Started off with a water then switched to a Beam on the rocks about half way through. Nice Maduro wrapper. Small veins with a bit of a rough look. Firm to the touch. Cut clean and had a pleasant not to tight draw. A bit of canoeing right from the start but one touch up and it was fine. The first third was a nice mix of sweet fruit and soft leather and strong coffee. Reminds me of the Graycliff 1666. The light colored ash was a bit ragged but stayed firm until I knocked it off at about a solid inch and a half. The second third the leather was more pronounced and it definitely showed more strength. I noticed my fingers are stained!! Going into the last third the leather is still there but not as prominent. Picking up a really nice oaky wood taste. Final third stayed pretty much the same as it started. I would definitely smoke these again. |

Heavy body, meaty, great smell.....muted flavors IMO but still a great cigar if you're in the mood for that profile. I always have a handful in my humidor.

Thanks for the review Brent. The R#5 Natural is the stick I enjoy, but can't complain either way though. Think I may have a R#4 sitting in the cooler

Re: La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5
I really enjoy this cigar. Thanks for the review. Never had my fingers stained in the 8 or so I've had though.
