Bucanero Canon Cubano Natural Cigar Review Video
This 5.5×60 light tan double connecticut stick offered a 1 hour burn time with plenty of smooth creamy smoke and a very loose draw. Burn was good all the way down with just minor waviness. The first third showed flavors of dusty light leather and a mild creamy finish, very much like a milder Don Douglas. The second third moved to a core earthiness and longer finish, losing the cream. The last third kept the earthiness but added quite a bit more cream flavor and texture, finishing the stick out very smooth and light. Overall a mild-medium body cigar. Video on the site.

Re: Bucanero Canon Cubano Natural Cigar Review Vid
I tried several of these at a B&M cigar event a while back, and all that I tried tasted and smelled bad -- reminded me of mildew.
The cigars were not provided by the B&M, but by Bucanero themselves -- they brought the cigars to the event. For all the different styles that they had I could not believe that they did not have one good cigar. I'm sure that this is a storage issue, but I don't think I will ever be able to enjoy a Buncanero due to this experience. |

Is this the same folks who make the infamous Reds?

It is - but the reds are a different story - they are the only short filler of the line, I need to get the full story on them from Robert, I'll be doing them soon as well as the other half of his line. I have not tried the Reds or any of the others not reviewed yet.

The Bucanero Red were ordered by CI, and it is their blend. The regular Bucanero line is totally different, they contain a good bit of San Vincente tobacco, which is extensively aged and has a distinct vintage flavor and aroma. This tobacco gives Bucanero blends a taste that reminds you of well aged Cuban cigars, and you will also find this essence in Davidoff cigars,in a lesser degree.Bucanero uses tobacco from many countries, the blends are nicely complex.
Some folks do not like them at first, since they are a bit "musty",I have enjoyed all of the Bucanero blends, the flavor is truly similar to really well aged Cuban smokes. You can go to their web site and see the blends and order them at very good prices,Try the Booty Maduro,it is a very full little stick, and the other blends are quite tasty..... |

I've tried three types. I liked them all. The only one I can remember was the Full Sail. A strong, full flavored cigar.

Bryan, thanks for the review, pic and video!
My favorite Bucanero cigars was the line of Costa Rican Puros they made, Treasures of Costa Rica. |

Yep I just confired all the details with Robert - the Red is 100% CI, they just paid to use the Bucanero name. It's a combo long and short filler cigar, so might burn well, we'll see. Robert has never even smoked one, so it'll be a surprise for both of us!
