Onion Dip
1 Large yellow onion, minced
2-4 T. Olive oil 1 1/2 C. Sour cream 1/2 C. Mayo 1/4 t. Ground cumin 1/4 t. Garlic powder 1/8 t. Allspice Sea salt & fresh ground white pepper to taste Cook onion in olive oil over medium low heat until brown, set aside to cool. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Chill over night. |

That sounds really good. I must admit that I have a lazy streak when it comes to onion dip.
It goes like this: To 1 pint sour cream, add one packet of powdered onion soup mix and stir till well-mixed. Refrigerate until ready to use. I am going to try your recipe though, for it sounds more tasty. Could be I'll add some minced garlic to the onion while it is browning.

I usually do it the lazy way, like the Rev. But I might try this the next time I have a leftover onion. It sounds tasty, especially with a little curry thrown in for some zip.
