The Soloist
Caught this one at the dollar theater yesterday - I'd heard it was a "music" movie so I knew I had to see it. It ended up being amazing. The last movie I saw was The Hangover, and this one couldn't be more opposite. This was a true adult, serious, storytelling movie. I read a review/article later that mentioned that the movie didn't get much press because the US market just doesn't have a taste for serious movies anymore, and I tend to agree.
Jamie Foxx had a fantastic performance throughout the movie, and completely drew me into his character. While part of the subject matter is music, it's much more about homelessness and mental illness. Great movie that made me think for a long time afterwards.
