Re: Cigars in Cinema
Ya see, now I've started, they're all coming back to me!
The Birds (1963) In Hitchcock's classic horror, a suited gentleman is lighting a fair sized cigar, but doesn't notice the river of gasoline approaching him as the birds wreak havoc in Bodega Bay. Bottoms Up (1960) Professor Jimmy Edwards signs a truce with the scheming inmates of an English private school by firing up a cigar several times. Convoy (1978) Sam Peckinpah's infamous truckers revolt movie. Plenty of cigar chomping truckers here. A shot in the dark (1964) Known as the Pink Panther 2, Peter Seller's Inspector Clouseau is slowly driving his boss, Herbert Lom, insane and he unfortunately has a miniature guillotine on his desk for cutting the ends off his cigars. Yes, there goes a finger half way through the movie! Carry on Follow that Camel (1967) Brit comedy set in the French Foreign legion with Phil Silvers smoking cigars all the way through the movie. Carry on Behind (1971) Benny, the betting agent, smokes a couple of nice looking Cuban cigars. Bullitt (1968) King of cool Steve McQueen in that amazing car chase and also starring a young Robert Duvall as the cigar chomping cab driver. Night of the Hunter (1955) Robert Mitchum is particularly intense here, but still smoking plenty of cigars. Deadlier than the male (1967) Elke Sommer Bondian rip off in which the killer supplies his victims with exploding cigars. Always a terrible waste of a cigar in my opinion. More to follow I'm sure Last edited by AL_B_70; 07-03-2011 at 12:37 PM. |

Re: Cigars in Cinema
She wore a yellow ribbon (1949) John Wayne / John Ford Masterpiece and I lost track of the amount of cigars quite early on. I guess an Army marches on its stomach and a constant supply of good cigars.
