Still on the fence about the Orlik. I want it to be a 4 star smoke because of the price, but in 2 different pipes so far it's been a very 1 dimensional smoke. Might keep some on hand for those times when puffing without much thought is required. Only my second round with Uni Flake, still not sure about this blend. Everyone raves about it, but I have yet to have that moment when I go "ah-ha" and buy 10 tins.
I really hope you end up liking it, Frank! LOL

Same here. I never quite "got" University Flake.

Of course, you can send me all your tins of UF to me to be disposed of.

No charge!

Had a very enjoyable bowl of Frog Morton walking Bunk this morning. Maybe my pipe is finally broken-in, but things seem to be working better.

It starts out well, but after that first 1/4 of the bowl, it starts going south for me. Got a decent size sample, going to try a couple of different pipes and see what happens.

mmmm love me some HOTW. What part of MD ya in there Martel?

Last bowl of 1792 today for me. Gave this blend it's shot, tried it rubbed, stuffed , dry, and moist. Very strong on the flavor front. But it honestly just kept tasting like old nasty cigar.

I'm in northern Harford County. I have a "difficult" relationship with 1792; once in a while I really dig it, other times it's a bit unpleasant to me. The hardest baccy for me to get a handle on.

G

I'd MUCH rather smoke the tonquin flavor than the flowery/soap of some of the other Lakeland flavor. I struggle with the Lakeland blends, eventhough my little brother likes them becuase he says they smell like Laundry day.

That was the first Tonquin flavored one I've had so far. as far as scented flakes go I think Erinmore Flake is going to be my go to...wish they would get it in at smokingpipes I've got a decent order about to drop from them.

Smoked a big deep corncob of Escudo on a Sunday morning walk around the neighborhood. Burned so well I only re-lit once.

Man, that's where I got started in all of this many years ago... bought my first real pipe there in about 1982. Haven't been a regular there since I moved to Harford County, because they didn't really have a place to hang out. But I've been down there a few times since they expanded and it's pretty nice. Last time was about 2 weeks ago. You get there much?

Cheers,
G
